Last Wednesday, after several hectic months of renovations and design decisions, the Bluetrain team finally packed up their things and said goodbye to the office on Pembina Road. Those of you who have Bluetrain on Facebook know that we’ve been positively giddy with anticipation over the new office, but now that we’re here I have to say that it was definitely worth the wait.

We are now happily settling into our new home: a spacious yet cozy open concept office located at 236 – 150 Broadway Crescent in Sherwood Park.

Apparently our office’s design concept is called “modern efficiency” but I prefer to call it “heavenly” as the amount of natural light we get in here is so crazy it bounces off the white laminate surfaces and gives the whole place a heavenly glow.

Here are some of the other office perks that the team is excited about:

“The beautiful coyotes that we can see from our window, the new Keurig and the fancy boardroom.” – Aly Angus.

“The BOSCH dishwasher and the comfy island stools.” – Elaine Manning

“The windows!” – Mark Neufeld

“Our meeting rooms and eating lunch at the island.” – Bryan Smith

“I love that the office is white, bright and modern!” – Shauna Heryford

“I love the bright, airy vibe and the ability to check out whether my coyote friend is terrorizing crows again from the large windows.” – Shauna Carther

“The splashes of blue here and there.” – Diana Gaviria

A close up of the boardroom, can see a phone sitting on a round wooden table, 5 black chairs tucked in and three bright windows.

In addition to the fun features, the new office speaks volumes about Bluetrain’s success as a company. Those who are close to Bryan will perhaps remember the days when he was growing the business from his home and when he decided to take office space in Sherwood Park 2 years ago. Now with a team of 7 working locally, 3 remotely and an ever expanding client list, Bluetrain is finally ready for a space that not only meets our growing needs but also reflects who we are as a company.

We look forward to welcoming future team members, hosting clients and partners and continuing to foster a culture based on results and education.

We’d also like to give a big thank you to all the people who worked hard to help us build our dream office!

Thank you to…
Chuck and Ben at Trikon Group for helping us find our new location.

Everyone at Gentry Homes (formerly Reid Contracting) for all their hard work carrying out the vision for our new office. We’d like to give a special shout out to Vince and Ben.

Donna Assaly for designing a space that was both beautiful and functional.

Sunco Communication for doing a masterful job cabling our phone/data and installing our phone system.

Accurate Networks for setting up our computers and TVs.

Ryan Fukala at BMO for the great service and for helping us with the financing.

Homes by Santos Construction for creating this amazing building and answering all of our questions.

Source Office Furnishings for helping us find the perfect workstations and for being patient while we tried chair after chair trying to select the perfect one (this saga continues).

And last but certainly not least, thank you to Shauna Heryford who saved Bryan from going bonkers by staying on top of this huge project and organizing all the little pieces that went with it. We are all so grateful, Shauna, thank you!

If you’re in the neighbourhood please stop by and visit us. We’d love to show you around and treat you to a coffee at our new island.

  1. Congratulations Bryan and the Bluetrain team. The space looks great. It’s wonderful to see the success you’ve created, and we’re happy to be a part of it (since the early start-up days).

  2. Thanks everyone! Yes, I have to admit the new office beats my original basement office back in 2007 by a large margin. However, it was nice back in those days that I didn’t have to drive anywhere on a cold day. 😉

  3. Congratulations Bluetrain! New office space looks fantastic – can’t wait to come and see it for myself.

  4. Congrats Bluetrain! The office looks awesome. I know it’s been a long time coming.
Can’t wait for the first party to break it in! 🙂
